The ARCA-VERDE approach represents the client’s needs and the project’s location in the built form. We strive to connect client needs, project budget, and site context to develop a strong sense of place and do not subscribe to any single style. We work exclusively with building information modelling (BIM) tools, as they result in better projects and assist with client comprehension. We can show you what the project will look like before construction begins, including a walk-through with a virtual reality (VR) headset. Within the ARCA-VERDE philosophy is a belief that every project offers an opportunity to develop something of merit, and every participant has a voice. ARCA-VERDE is led by principal architect Michael Peixoto, OAA, MRAIC, LEED AP, Passive House Certified Designer. Michael has 26 years of experience, places accessibility and sustainability in a paramount position, and is a long-time advocate and executor of projects involving both. Michael’s experience includes sixteen (16) Passive House-based projects, five (5) LEED projects ranging from Certified to Silver ratings (CI & NC), and five (5) Net-Zero (inc. “ready”) projects.  Michael helped the City of Ottawa develop the 2025 Accessibility Program, and worked with CNIB while completing his architectural thesis on “A Blind Experience of Architecture”.  Michael is a Passive House Certified Designer and is LEED Certified.
